PEAR RUN CANCELLED ON MAY 12, 2012
On behalf of the Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association we want to once again offer our sincerest apologies for the cancellation of the 2012 Pear Run. The decision to cancel was made in the best interest of public safety due to confirmed lightning strikes in the area the morning of the event.
In recognition of the cancellation we will be making an across the board price reduction in 2013. Those participants who registered prior to the shirt cut-off date of April 6, 2012 and did not have the opportunity to pick up their packets, these will be mailed out next week to the address provided via active.com or the mail-in registration form. All door prizes for this years event have been awarded to the winning recipients.
Again, we cannot say thank you enough to all of our sponsors and participants for supporting the PCPAAA, Pearland Police Department and the City of Pearland. Your support allows us to educate the community and bridge the gap between the citizens and law enforcement as well as directly support the Pearland Police Department in financial matters not covered in their annual budget. Just a few examples of past purchases: Negotiation equipment for C.A.R.T. (think SWAT), T-REX (All Terrain Vehicle), software/hardware updates for the Crash Data Recovery System (only agency in Brazoria County with this equipment), just to name a few.
